POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY

Alters the preoccupation only with repairing the worst things in life to also building the best qualities in life.

WHAT IS POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY?

Positive psychology is the scientific study of human strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive. The field is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play. Positive psychology is primarily concerned with the use of psychological theory, research, and intervention techniques aimed at helping you understand the positive, adaptive, creative, and emotionally fulfilling aspects of human behavior. The goal of positive psychology is to assist people in becoming happier and more fulfilled.

Positive psychology focuses on the positive events and influences in life like positive experiences (e.g., happiness, joy, inspiration, and love), positive states and traits (e.g., gratitude, resilience, and compassion), and positive institutions (e.g., applying positive principles within entire organizations and institutions). “Together, these concepts are at the forefront of what constitutes the pleasant life, the engaged life, and the meaningful life.”

A joyful life is an individual creation that cannot be copied from a recipe.

MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING

Positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living. It is a scientific approach to studying human thoughts, feelings, and behavior with a focus on strengths instead of weakness, building the good in life instead of repairing the bad, and enhancing the lives of people.

If positive psychology teaches us anything, it is that all of us are a mixture of strengths and weaknesses. No one has it all, and no one lacks it all.
